What we know, and what stays public.
The whole point of this site is a public record — so the honest summary is: your forecasts are public by design, your contact details are not, and we track nothing beyond what the record needs.
1 · Who is responsible
The data controller is VigFi (vigfi.com), Latvia. Contact: martins@ivins.lv.
2 · What we store
Account: your email address (or, for X sign-in, your X user id, @username and avatar), your handle, and sign-in timestamps. The record: your sealed calls, probability forecasts with their update history, rationales, comments, and the play-money points ledger. X connection: OAuth tokens, encrypted at rest, used only for actions you trigger. Technical: short-lived sign-in codes (hashed) and standard server logs (IP, user agent) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.
3 · What is public
Your handle, display name, bio, verified X handle if connected, and everything you publish — calls, forecasts, rationales, comments, and your track record — are public web pages and may be rendered into share images. Your email address is never public. Post accordingly.
4 · Why we may process it (legal bases)
Running your account and the service: contract (GDPR Art 6(1)(b)). Keeping resolved records published, verifying record integrity, and preventing abuse: our legitimate interest in an accurate, tamper-evident public record (Art 6(1)(f)) — a prediction journal that can be quietly rewritten or emptied is worthless to everyone who relied on it. Connecting your X account: your consent, withdrawable any time by disconnecting.
5 · Cookies
One session cookie when you sign in, and a ten-minute cookie during X sign-in. No advertising, no analytics trackers, no third-party cookies.
6 · Who else sees data
We never sell or share your data for advertising. Processors: our hosting provider (Hetzner, EU data centres) and our email delivery service (sign-in codes only). If you connect X or press “Post to X”, data flows to X Corp under X’s own privacy policy.
7 · Retention & erasure
Account data lives while the account does. On an erasure request we retire the account: handle replaced with “[retired forecaster]”, bio, rationales and comments removed or de-identified, share images regenerated, X tokens deleted — while de-identified aggregate numbers (counts, consensus history) remain, since they identify nobody. Write to martins@ivins.lv; we act within 30 days.
8 · Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to legitimate-interest processing — same address. You can also complain to your data protection authority; ours is the Latvian Datu valsts inspekcija (dvi.gov.lv).
9 · Changes
Material changes will be announced on this page with a new date. The research purpose of the record (aggregate forecasting accuracy) is part of this notice from day one.
No ads, no trackers, no selling data — the record is the product, and it belongs in public.
